Goodbye Mr. Weiners

Ouvre (isn't that French for goodbye, Spencer?) Wesley Weiners. We've loved having you in our home and sharing in our fun times.
For those of you who don't know the story, Wesley Weiners is a $1,200 Puggle (pug, beagle mix) that my sister's roommate, Xochie, bought at the beginning of last school year. They live out in an apartment near Cal State Fullerton, and never really got around to paying their pet deposit for him. He destroyed their carpet with pee and poop, and Xochie was told it was them or the dog. Rosie, my sis, came in February and asked Scott and I if we would take him until the end of the school year when Xochie could take him home to Northern Cali to live with her parents. We said yes (of course) and he arrived the next week.

His real name is just Wesley, but everyone calls him Mr. Weiners because of the movie Mean Girls. You know the scene where Cady is planning to get to Gretchen so she has some candy cane grams delivered to herself? As the Santa is passing out the candy canes, he's sayin who they're for and when he gets to Gretchen Weiners, he says "And none for Gretchen Weiners, bye" Well, Wesley used to be (and still is if you aren't looking) a food stealer. He'll take it from your hand, plate, table, etc. So Rosie and Xochie used to push him away from their food and say "And none for Wesley Weiners, bye" thus the name was born.

In his 3 month stay with us, he has managed to destroy 4 shoes, pee on numerous household items, and cause a ruckus with all of his barking nonstop. He loves to sniff faces (Scott hates that) and steal any type of paper product that he can chew.

BUT....we have loved the friend and playmate that he has been for our Sammy dog and the never ending entertainment that their playfights have provided. He leaves tomorrow afternoon to go back to Fullerton with Xochie, who heads home on Friday. I know everyone else in my family is happy, and I can't say that I'm not, because he is a handful, but I will miss him terribly.
He'll have fun in Norhtern Cali and have more room to move about, but I hope that he an Sammy won't be too down that they are being split up. He's a goofball and slightly deranged, but he became part of our family and I am sad to see him leave. Adios and good luck Mr. Weiners.
