66'ers Game with Work

Our receptionist, Kim, had a bunch of free tickets to the 66'ers game and was giving them out at work. Scott and I got enough for my family to go too. There were lots of people from work there...office and crew. It was a great time for us to get to know everyone outside of work. Thanks Kim!!!
One of our crew leaders, James, and 4 of his 5 kids

Another crew leader, Tyler, and his son Ethan...we missed his wife Shawnee and daughter Maddie. Scott and I babysat Ethan and Maddie and loved it. They are the cutest!

Mark Johnson and his family, he works in Sales and Management

My family and my brother's friends

Spider Golf

No, its not a game like spider solitaire...it's mini golf at Castle Park.
See this spider?
There were a ton of them!!! Possible explanations:
1. Early Halloween decorations (it's never too early)
2. An extensive fly problem (there was an old lady who swallowed a spider...)
3. The beginnings of a spider-human war...this is their main base, right in front of our eyes
4. Castle Park is too cheap to exterminate these scary, disgusting creatures

If I were just guessing out of thin air, I would think #3, though having been to Castle Park and seen the state the rest of the park is in...I am going to go with #4. It didn't put too much of a damper on our golf game, but we did have to walk with our clubs out in front of us to take out any potential webs that were being strung across the walkways.

Scott lost his ball and spent 5 minutes fishing around in there

The end of a great night!!!

Back to Back Graduations

My brother Richie graduated from High School in June. It was a big accomplishment because for a while we didn't know if he would be able to do it. But he worked hard and was able to finish on time.

You just got your diploma..smile :)

Richie and our parents
Roger (his friend), Richie, Rosie, Me, and Russell...all the kids together
My friend Katie graduated from Crafton the day after Richie's graduation. She finished a 2 year program in Radiology. Katie got the top award that is voted on by all the instructors, she also finished in the top of her class. She currently works at St. Mary's Hospital in Apple Valley, which is where I was born. Go Katie!!! So proud of her!!!
Katie getting her award.

Katie and I...best friends since we were 5

Texas

I know this has been a while coming...but I just realized I never put anything on here about our trip to Texas in April. We flew to DFW to visit Scott's brother, Spencer, his wife, Tammy, and their cute baby, Maddie. They also gave us a 1998 Green Ford Ranger. It is a good truck, old, kinda sticks in 1st and 2nd, but it was free, so we're grateful to have a second vehicle for when we need it. We spent a few days out there in Forney, TX with them and then took the 16 hour drive to Tempe, AZ where we stopped to see our great friends Justin and Charlotte. We stayed with them for 2 days and then finished our trip. Overall, it was fun...long drives..sometimes pretty landscape...sometimes just flat, empty nothingness; but thats what you get when you visit the 2nd largest state in the US. It can't have everything :)

On the plane, ready to go!

The only horseback riding we got to do in Texas

Some of the nice scenery

Flat nothingness, nice clouds though
This bird flew in front of our truck and we saw a spray of feathers...we didn't know it got stuck until we made it all the way to Tempe

Finally, AZ!!!

This was Scott before we got to AZ...

This was Scott after we got to AZ...yay!!

Rattlesnake we saw at ASU...it shivered and I jumped a foot!

Rock garden at ASU...Scott found his new calling!

I love me some Scotty!

Goodbye Bandit...

I know what you're thinking...what pet of theirs is named Bandit?
Before you try to review all of the animals that we have or may have had, let me clarify. I am saying goodbye to Scott's 2003 Suzuki Bandit 1200S...his motorcycle.
On April 26th (or so) he crashed it on his way to the Laughlin River Run. He was riding the little two lane highway up through 29 Palms on his way to Laughlin, past Amboy (never heard of this town before this) when he was hit by a really strong gust of wind that blew him into the gravel shoulder. Once he was in the gravel, he couldn't keep the bike up since he was going 65 mph and crashed. He was riding behind our friend Travis and Travis told us that he just had a feeling to look in his mirror and when he did he saw Scott's bike going end over end. Luckily, Scott landed on his back and only slid a little bit (he was wearing full riding gear) in the gravel...he walked away with a bruised knee and a few scratches on his side. Pretty much the luckiest man I know.
He called me and told me...I thought he was joking because he had called earlier joking that he and Travis had both crashed...so I ended up going to the River Run even though I had not planned on it. I brought our truck and we got to have a fun weekend with friends. On the way home, we got to load the bike into the truck to tow it home.

In Amboy before the crash, the Bandit is the silver bike

Afterwards on the side of the road

Having fun in Laughlin

So when it was all said and done...the insurance company covered the remaining balance on the loan. The motorcycle repair shop quoted $10,000 to repair Scott's Bandit...it cost $8,000 brand new in 2003!!! So it was totaled out and we lost a cherished member of the family...from Scott's POV anyways :)
For those of you feeling bad for Scott, just hold on a second. He will get a new bike next year if he keeps the deal that I made with him--->He has to pay off some of our debt and then he can get a motorcycle.
That was my deal with him..........
but my resolve crumbles everyday when I see this adorable face.

Go Angels!!!

Scott and I are big Angels fans. We have been to 6 games this season and have tickets to 3 more. Here are some of the highlights:

We always sit in the home run section, its at the end of the 1st base line, right below the giant screen.

We got these beanies for free as one of the teams promos. Woohoo!

We got these Angels suggies for free, we were also part of the Guiness book of world records as the largest number of people wearing a fleece blanket at once.

Our second game of the season, my sister called me and said "Where are you sitting?" I told her and she said "I'm on my way". Apparently her boyfriend's parents had brought them to the game, so she came over to visit.

The next couple of games we're going with friends from work, it'll be great!

Old Photos/Memories

I was looking through some old photos and found these ones...

This was our second date, we went to the newly built Newport Temple and walked around. We then headed to the beach and "shared in true loves kiss" (to quote Giselle from Enchanted).

This is at the petting zoo in Oak Glen, we were still dating at this point. I could already tell that he was a man after my own heart, look at how badly he wants to feed that goat!
After 2 months of dating, we couldn't wait any longer! Scott proposed outside the Redlands Temple.
I just love looking through old memories, it makes me feel great!

Charlotte & Justin

My best friend Charlotte got engaged on Thanksgiving last year. She called me while I was at Scott's family's dinner and I had to run outside so that I could scream for joy.
A little background...Charlotte moved to Yucaipa from Idaho when we were in the 5 th grade. We started hanging out in the 7th grade and have been friends ever since. Charlotte moved to Tempe, Arizona in 2007 for school and a little change. It is in Tempe that she met her husband, Justin Heyer. Charlotte had always been so picky and "exclusive" when it came to dating in high school that I didn't think that she would find anyone who met all of her requirements when it came time to find a husband. But, she found Justin who met every one of her requirements besides the height (she wanted someone a lot taller than her, he's maybe 3 inches taller). They are perfect together. When I met Justin, it was like meeting a boy version of Charlotte. I am so exited for her.

Snow Day!!!

We woke up the morning of January 22nd and found snow all over the ground. It was probably the most snow we've had in 3 years in Yucaipa. We played and frolicked until it was light outside so that we could make it to work semi safely. It was a lot of fun and a good reason to be into work a little late that day.

Our beautiful trees covered in snow.

Scott beginning to clear off our car.

Finally done...15 minutes later.
