Duck Days

Saturday, Scott and I went to the duck pond in Redlands at Ford Park. We had gone to Payless in Redlands to get me some new shoes (I had a coupon) and planned on going to the park after. I talked Scott into going to Arby's (he hates it) and then we headed to the park. We brought some bread to feed the ducks, though none of them seemed to be too hungry. We'd throw the bread and they'd just let it soak in the water next to them. It was a relaxing and fun way to spend a couple hours on Saturday.

Our feast!

Doggie Bath Day

It was doggie bath day a few Sundays ago. It is the worst day of the week for all four dogs. Santa hates the water and whines the whole time. Then he hides out from the dreaded blow dryer and brushing.

Sammy just looks at me as though I've betrayed him somehow. He'll sit through the brushing and blowdrying, though when its over he won't come near me until the dryer is put away. I love bathing him the best though, he always comes out fluffy.

Before After

Wesley just goes crazy the whole time. He scratched me and left a bruise on my leg. He's vicious.
After escaping from the bathroom, he just goes crazy.
Frederico joins Wesley in the craziness, though he is good in the bathtub.

Stinky Reunited!!!

So Stinky, the dog that we found on Saturday, has been claimed! His owner, JC, put him out to go to the bathroom on Saturday morning and forgot that the gate was open and that was how he got out. He was driving his daughter to school this morning and she yelled out " Dad, there's Chico."He immediately stopped and asked where to which she repiled "On that sign." They saw one of the flyers that I had put up with Chico's (aka Stinky) picture and my phone number. He called me once he dropped her off and I told him he could get Chico now because Scott was at home. JC went to my house and picked Chico up and took him home. I love happy endings!!!!!

Yet Another Dog!

So Scott and I were driving on 5th street in Yucaipa today and found a wandering cockerspaniel. Those that know my love for dogs....I couldn't just let him keep wandering in case he got hit by a car. So we picked him up (I lured him in with a circus peanut candy) and took him out and about with us. When we got home Scott had plans to go paintballing so I drove back over to the area where we found him and tried to find his home. I knocked on a bunch of doors, but no one had ever seen him before. I gave that up and went home to make flyers. I put his picture and a big "FOUND DOG" on it. I already have 4 dogs, and can't take another so I really hope that the owner will call me...or someone who wants a cute dog will take him. ;) We named him Stinky. He has bad breath.

New Dog...For a While

We have added to our already overflowing dog pack :)
My sister's roommate, Xochie, got a puggle named Wesley from a pet store a couple of months ago. He's been living with them in their apartment in Fullerton since then, though last week he was evicted because he has ruined their carpet by pottying inside :(
Xochie is from Northern California and won't be going back home until the end of the term in May. Her parents have dogs and will take Wesley when Xochie brings him, but that isn't til May so we will be watching him until then.
I am WAAAAAAY excited!!!
When he got here on Friday, I could tell that he was spoiled rotten! He bites, pottys wherever he wants, takes what he wants, etc.
Oh boy did I fix that fast! With dogs, showing that you are the one in charge is key to getting them to do what you ask. So first thing, I didn't put up with anything he tried. He would try to bite me, I would put him on his back and hold him there until he stopped growling at me and gave up. He actually bit me so hard once that he gave me bruises from his teeth. It really hurt and when I put him on his back, I growled at him hardcore! He immediately stopped growling and gave up. I felt great. I knew that I had won.
Since that very first day he has not peed inside, though he will still try to bite occasionally, it is a lot less than it was originally. Go Team Brown!
